Planning

Planning restrictions can have significant bearing on the viability of your project. Under new Planning guidelines there are certain small developments that can be undertaken without requiring Planning consent – the majority of projects however still require submission to the Local Authority for Planning Approval. We provide a full service in this process through preliminary planning consultation, design plans preparation & submission for approval and if necessary Planning Appeal.

We have considerable experience with Listed Buildings & dwellings located in Conservation Areas.

Building Regulations

All projects are required to meet with the current Building Regulations which due to increasingly stringent energy conservation requirements has become more & more complex to comply with.

We undertake the full process from plans preparation including construction notations + lighting and energy submissions including ongoing consultations with Building Control through to plans approval.

Energy

Under current Building Regulation legislation there are mandatory requirements for the degree of energy saving efficiency.

The most effective measures are ‘passive energy conservation’ i.e insulation, double/triple glazing, etc but there is now, due to the Code for Sustainable Housing, a move towards active ‘zero carbon’ energy contribution by solar panels, wind turbines & PV roof panels, etc - other efficiencies relate to the type of central heating boilers used and the energy utilised in lighting & domestic appliances.

Where possible Outside Inside try to maximise the energy saving potential of every project.
